Know Before You Go: First Day of School at Kairos

Monday, August 17 is more than just the first day. Students will begin building relationships, learning expectations, connecting with their mentors and teachers, and setting the tone for the school year ahead. We need every Kraken here and ready to learn.


Here's what you need to know before you go:


Start and End Times


Middle School

  • Doors open: 7:45 AM

  • Classes begin: 8:10 AM

  • Dismissal: 4:05 PM


High School

  • Doors open: 7:40 AM

  • Classes begin: 8:00 AM

  • Dismissal: 3:45 PM


Attendance and tardies begin counting on the very first day. For high school students, excessive absences or tardies can impact credit attainment. Please make sure your student arrives on time and is ready to jump in from day one.


Drop-Off and Pick-Up


Drop-off and pick-up will take place on Miami Street, on the side of the street closest to the Kairos building. Traffic will move through the car line and exit onto Jefferson Avenue. VIEW THE KAIROS CAR LINE MAP


  • Please follow the car line and help us keep traffic moving safely.

  • Do not block streets or driveways

  • Pease do not ask students to cross the street to reach your vehicle.


Student safety is all of our responsibility. A little patience and teamwork will help us make arrival and dismissal safe for every Kraken.


Important: Enrollment Verification


Before your student leaves their ride, our team will verify their enrollment status on the sidewalk.


Please do not drive away until a Kairos team member has confirmed that your student is cleared to enter school.


If your student is still missing required enrollment documents, you will be asked to park in the Kairos visitor lot and come inside to complete the enrollment process.


If your student arrives at school independently and their enrollment is incomplete, we may contact you and ask you to come to school or complete the remaining steps over the phone.


Newly enrolling families: If you know you still need to submit your student's birth certificate or proof of residency, please bring those documents with you tomorrow or have clear images available on your phone.

Tomorrow, we begin another year of learning, growth, relationships, and big possibilities. We are excited to welcome our Krakens back to campus and get started.
