Chief Schools Officer
Jonathan Tyrrell serves as the Chief Schools Officer at Kairos, ensuring that principals, teachers, and staff have the support, training, and resources they need to create safe, challenging, and engaging learning environments. Now in his second year at Kairos and with 23 years of experience in education, Jonathan focuses on aligning curriculum, instruction, and student support systems so that every student can grow academically and personally. This year, he is most looking forward to seeing how students respond to the positive changes staff are bringing to their work.
Jonathan earned a B.A. in Political Science from Drew University, an M.Div. from Liberty University, a Diploma in Theology and Ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary, and an M.Sc. in History of International Relations from the London School of Economics. He identifies most with the Kairos value of excellence, reflecting his commitment to high standards for both staff and students. Trained as a marriage, PTSD, and trauma counselor, Jonathan brings a deep understanding of supporting students, families, and staff. Outside of work, he loves reading, has over 50 tattoos, and considers himself an undercover science nerd.
