We’re thrilled to share the 25–26 school year calendar with our Kairos families! Whether you're returning or just joining our community, this year’s schedule offers the consistency and momentum that make year-round learning at Kairos so effective. Mark your calendars: the first day of school is August 18, 2025, and the last day is June 26, 2026.

8 Learning Cycles

At Kairos, our school year runs across eight learning cycles, each followed by a short break for students. These breaks are built in to give students time to recharge and give teachers time to reflect, adjust instruction, and accelerate student learning. Unlike traditional “summer school,” our final cycle (Cycle 8) is part of the required school year and includes high-impact programming—everything from remediation and acceleration to internships and real-world learning for our high schoolers.

The 25-26 School Year Calendar: A Better Fit for Families

New this year, we’ve made strategic changes to better align our schedule with holiday weekends and the calendars of other St. Louis-area schools. That means fewer conflicts for families with students in multiple schools and more convenient time off during long weekends. We’ve also adjusted high school hours slightly—students will now start at 7:40 a.m. and wrap up by 3:30 p.m., giving them more time for jobs, internships, or college prep in the afternoons. Middle school dismissal remains consistent at 4:05 p.m.

Why Year-Round

Why year-round? As Chief Schools Officer Jonathan Tyrrell put it: “The traditional school calendar is based on farming—not on what actually helps students learn. Our year-round model gives kids more time, more consistency, and stronger outcomes.” This model, unique in our region, is core to who we are and how we serve your student best.

Bad Weather Make-up Days

As always, we’ve built in three weather make-up days to ensure every instructional minute counts. If unused, those days become bonus time off! We will always inform families of school closures via mass notification, our social media accounts, and the local news.
