Kairos crossing guard stops traffic during dismissal.

At Kairos Academies, student safety comes first—whether they’re walking through our doors in the morning or heading home in the afternoon. Smooth arrival and dismissal depend on two things: safety and courtesy. By following the guidelines below, you help keep every student safe and ensure we’re being good neighbors in our community.

Morning Arrival

Drop Off Location:

All students should be dropped off on Miami Street, on the sidewalk closest to the school building. Please do not drop students across the street—it’s not safe, especially during heavy traffic.

Where to Enter:

  • Middle School – Blue awning entrance on Miami Street

  • High School – Metal stairs next to the parking lot on Miami Street

All students go through a metal detector screening upon arrival.

Late Arrivals (after 9:00 AM):

  • Enter through the Concordia Publishing House front doors on Jefferson Ave.

  • Go through the glass doors and press the call button—tell us who you are, and staff will assist you.

  • Students will sign in, be screened, and then head to class.

  • Consistent late arrivals can trigger a family meeting with school leaders.

Afternoon Dismissal

Our car line keeps traffic flowing and protects students from unsafe crossings. Here’s the route:

  1. From Jefferson Ave, turn onto Utah Street to enter the car line.

  2. Turn right on Missouri Ave, then right on Miami St.

  3. Exit at Jefferson and Miami.

Important:

  • Do not pick up students across the street or on Jefferson Ave.

  • Middle School: Students are only dismissed once their ride is identified in line.

Picking Up Students During the School Day

Before you arrive:

  • Students under 18 must have prior parent approval (written or by a documented school phone call) before they may leave school on their own.

  • Notify us at least 3 hours in advance using our Help Ticket System or call 314-252-0602, option 0.

When you arrive:

  • Visitors may street park on Jefferson Ave (please do not block the bus stop) or in the visitor parking lot on Miami St.

  • Enter through the Concordia Publishing House lobby on Jefferson Ave.

  • Go through the glass doors and press the call button—tell us who you are, and staff will assist you.

  • Guardians must show a government-issued photo ID every time you enter the school or pick up a student.

Note: We do not dismiss students during the last 30 minutes of the school day (except for emergencies). Repeated early pickups can trigger a family meeting with school leaders, since uninterrupted learning time is essential.
