For the past two summers, we've gone door-to-door down every street in Dutchtown, leaving information and soliciting feedback. Community needs shaped our model. The coach, for example, became an all-in-one point of contact for families because of repeated parent input. It was too hard to keep track of STOPPED HERE!
For example, parents repeatedly brought up the challenge of building relationships with several new teachers every semester. To meet that need, Kairos introduced the "coach" as an all-in-one point of contact for families. Coaches stay with students throughout their entire time at Kairos and function as a conduit between families and faculty (as well as school, city, state, or national services or opportunities).
