Lottery
Students are admitted by lottery on the second Friday of January. After the lottery, admission to Kairos is first-come, first-served.
Registration
If your child won the lottery, you can accept your spot by submitting the registration documents we'll send you.
Home Visit
In July, your family's coach will schedule a home visit to share more information and begin orienting your child to their new school!
Kairos offers a private school experience (like AltSchool or Khan Lab School) at a public school price (read: free). Our diverse-by-design, personalized learning approach empowers students to direct their own lives and learning. We use research-based restorative justice practices and an award-winning curriculum called Summit Learning.
Although Silicon Valley engineers maintain our online platform, teachers drive learning at Kairos.
Our curriculum, designed by professors at Stanford and Harvard, is based on a century of research.
your child is not average
So we won't give them an average, cookie-cutter education. Coaches personalize each student's experience, checking in every other day, updating parents weekly, and guiding growth year after year. By graduation, your child will be a self-directed learner, leader, and citizen—ready to thrive in a liberal arts college, a 21st-century career, and a free society.
Ambitious Plan
With an executive functioning coach, students set individualized growth goals and strategize decisions about when, where, how, and with whom to study.
Custom Supports
Students work on challenging material at their own pace, receiving targeted support in small classes and through their personalized learning platform.
Reflective Growth
At the end of learning cycle, students reflect on whether they met their goals, identify idiosyncratic needs or strengths, and plan how to grow even more next time.
